Digitek

Digitek is used to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. This drug is manufactured by Actavis Totowa LLC and is distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. under a "Bertek" label and by UDL Laboratories, Inc. under a "UDL" label.

Variations of drugs containing the active ingredient foxgloves digitalis have been around for hundreds of years. However, in April, 2008 the makers of Digitek discovered that a manufacturing error resulted in twice the correct level of Digoxin being formulated in the prescription drug. A mandatory recall was issued because of the serious, possible life-threatening injuries which could result.

Some of the side effects associated with using the defective drugs include:

  • Cardiac instability
  • Low blood pressure
  • Vomiting, nausea
  • Bradycardia
  • Death

If you or a loved one has suffered from one or more of these side effects as a result of taking the defective Digitek drug, you may be entitled to compensation. Call us at (478) 745-9002 for a free consultation.
