Zithromax
Zithromax (Azithromycin) is an antibiotic drug commonly prescribed for the treatment of ear infections, tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia and sinusitis. It was approved by the FDA in November, 1991 and is manufactured by Pfizer.
Serious side effects linked to the taking of Zithromax include, but are not limited to:
- Severe or watery diarrhea
- Abnormal liver function including hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice, as well as rare cases of hepatic necrosis and hepatic failure, some of which have resulted in death
- Difficulty breathing or swallowing
- Wheezing
- Irregular heartbeat
- Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and/or toxic epidermal necrolysis.
