About
Dan Nix represents people and families throughout Georgia who have been seriously injured or lost loved ones because of someone else's negligence, with a primary focus on serving clients across South Georgia from the Valdosta office of the Studstill Firm. He has recovered millions of dollars for injured clients and their families, including multiple seven-figure recoveries in cases involving auto wrecks, tractor-trailer collisions, wrongful death, and premises liability. His results include cases in which insurers and defendants initially denied liability but ultimately paid substantial settlements after extensive litigation.
Clients work directly with Dan from intake through resolution. He personally returns calls and emails and remains directly accessible throughout every case. As part of a small firm, Dan gives each matter the attention it deserves, including complex cases that other firms may choose not to pursue.
"Mr. Nix worked hard on getting my family the justice we deserve." — Former Client
Dan is admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. He is a long-standing member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff attorney. Living with legal blindness has given Dan a personal appreciation for resilience, persistence, and overcoming adversity—qualities he brings to advocating for people facing serious and catastrophic injuries.
Before joining the Studstill Firm, Dan developed a strong foundation in litigation through clerkships with a respected Macon law firm and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Those experiences continue to shape his preparation, practical judgment, and advocacy on behalf of clients.
A native of Nashville, Georgia, Dan graduated from Berrien County High School before earning a degree in philosophy from Valdosta State University. He graduated magna cum laude from Mercer University School of Law, finishing second in a class of 123 students and serving on the Editorial Board of the Mercer Law Review.
Dan is proud to practice in South Georgia and serve the community that helped raise him. He values guiding clients through some of life’s most difficult moments with clear communication, compassion, and determined advocacy.
Outside the office, Dan and his wife, Jordan, enjoy life with their two daughters, Kya and Maggie. Together they enjoy making music, caring for their farm animals, and serving at their church in Alapaha, where Dan regularly leads worship, speaks, and delivers devotional messages. Adopted at age six after spending time in foster care and raised largely by a single mother, Dan credits his family and his faith for the perspective he brings to serving clients. His guiding principle is simple: do the right thing, in the right way, for the right reason.
